A brief history
Hi! My name is Laura, and I love quilts.
I have been sewing since I was a little girl making doll clothes from my grandmother's scrap box. She was a bridal seamstress for Jeannette's in Detroit so my dolls had fabulous fabric, if not yet couture sewing! I sewed many of my own clothes as a young girl winning my middle school home economics sewing contest and going on to an honorable mention in a Hudsons-sponsored contest.
As a young mother I sewed Halloween costumes (Spiderman outfits for my son, daughter and her doll are remembered very fondly!), holiday outfits (and again, her doll received matching dresses!), curtains, pillows and more.
I have a Bachelor (UM '82) and Masters (EMU '00) of Fine Art and LOVE working with color and design. I worked for over 30 years in graphic design, advertising and marketing and trust my "eye" to help you finish the quilt you so lovingly pieced.
Please reach out to me to chat through your quilting dreams so we can turn them into a beautiful heirloom, together!
